Website privacy notice
This notice explains how Kita Advisors Pte. Ltd. ("Kita Advisors", "we", "us") handles personal data collected through www.kitaadvisors.com (the "Website"). It is separate from the Privacy Notice we give clients as part of a Fixed Price Agreement, which covers data we collect once an engagement begins.
1. What personal data we collect
- Contact form: when you use it, we collect the name, email address and message you provide.
- Monthly digest: if you subscribe to Asia Tax Decoded, our monthly email digest, we collect your email address and the language you choose (English or French), and we record the date of your request and the date on which you confirmed your subscription.
- Cookies: a cookie is a technology that allows the Website to store a piece of information (an "identifier") in your browser, which the Website uses while you are on it. We use a single cookie, which is strictly necessary for security.
- Server logs: our hosting provider, Heroku, records technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs, which are kept only briefly.

Security: it holds a token that confirms that the contact form and the subscription form were sent from our own Website. After you send a message, it also briefly holds the "thank you" message. It contains no tracking or analytics data. | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the contact form and the subscription form may then stop working. The Website does not use analytics or other tracking tools.
2. Why we collect it
We use the details from the contact form to respond to your enquiry, and to consider whether we can help with what you are trying to build in Asia. We use your email address and language choice only to send you the monthly digest, and only if you have subscribed and confirmed. We do not use personal data for any other purpose without telling you.
You give your consent to receive the digest by subscribing and then confirming your address through the link in the confirmation email. You can withdraw it at any time (see section 6).
3. Who we share it with
We do not share your information with anyone outside Kita Advisors, except:
- service providers that act on our behalf and on our instructions: Heroku (hosting), Resend (sending the digest emails and the messages from the contact form) and Microsoft 365 (our email service, which receives the messages from the contact form);
- if your enquiry leads to an engagement, in which case it will be handled under the Privacy Notice attached to that engagement; or
- where we are required to disclose it by law.
We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
4. Where your data may be sent
Your information is processed on servers outside Singapore. Our website hosting provider, Heroku, operates servers in the United States. Our email provider, Resend, may process email addresses outside Singapore, including in the United States and Japan. Cloudflare manages our domain name records (the directory that leads visitors to the Website) and does not carry the traffic of the Website. Our providers are required to protect your information to a reasonable standard.
5. How long we keep it
- Contact form: if your enquiry does not lead to an engagement with us, we keep your information for up to 5 years, consistent with how we handle client data more generally, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever is earlier.
- Monthly digest: we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. If you do not confirm your subscription, we delete your request within 10 business days.
- Email log: Resend keeps a log of the emails it sends, including the recipient's email address, for 30 days, after which it is deleted automatically.
6. Your rights
You may ask us to access or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting our Data Protection Officer below. You may withdraw your consent to the monthly digest at any time: every digest contains an unsubscribe link, and Gmail and Outlook may also show an Unsubscribe button. You can also write to privacy@kitaadvisors.com. We then stop the emails and delete your email address within 10 business days. Regardless of which data protection law applies to you, we will make reasonable efforts to honour these requests.
7. Governing law
This notice is governed by the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act. Where another data protection law applies to you, for example the EU General Data Protection Regulation, we will take reasonable steps to meet its requirements as well.
